Greg Martin is the Founder and Managing Director of Archer Venture Capital. Greg is also the Founder and Managing Director of Liquid Stock, LP, a liquidity alternative for owners of private shares. Greg is also co-founder and Managing Director of Rainmaker Securities, a merchant bank focused on private securities transactions.
Prior to founding Archer, Greg was a partner with Redpoint Ventures for 11 years, which grew out of Greg's original firm, Brentwood Venture Capital.
Greg focuses on early, growth stage and secondary technology investment opportunities. His current active investments include: Sovrn and QMerit.
Greg is also co-founder and Chairman of BetheBeast, and co-founder and Vice-Chairman of Nurocor Software.
Greg was previously CEO of TrueX Media, which was later sold to Fox.
Greg previously led investments in TrueCar (TRUE), 2U (TWOU), SquareTrade (sold to AllState), Shopkick (sold to SK Telecom), TrueX Media (sold to Fox), Yodlee (YDLE), Networks in Motion (sold to TSYS), Alacra (sold to Opus Global), TelASIC Communications (sold to MTI), Simula Labs (sold to Exist Labs), Webvisible (sold to The Berry Company) and Akana Software (sold to RogueWave). Greg was also actively involved with Redpoint's investment in MySpace (sold to NEWS).
Previously, Greg was an investment banker with Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette's Technology Group and before that, with Smith Barney where he focused on cross-border M&A and financing transactions. Greg has also owned and operated a high-end men's clothing franchise in the Los Angeles area.
Greg is a past board member of the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) and an Advisory Board member of the Tech Coast Angels and the San Diego Venture Group.
Greg is a Carter Scholar from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA. Greg also holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree, with concentrations in IT and Accounting, from the University of Calgary.
