Senior Front-End Engineer 

 

Are you a motivated and skilled Shopify Developer?  Do you thrive on taking e-commerce business to the next level?  If you are a talented and experienced Front-End Developer with a strong background in React and Shopify development, we want to hear from you!  We are seeking a Sr. Front-End Engineer to join our team and help us deliver and outstanding shopping experience to our customers.  Our ideal candidate will be responsible for customizing Shopify themes, writing custom code to create unique features and functionalities, and ensuring the overall performance and user experience of our online store.

Our headquarters is in Irvine, CA, but you may work remotely anywhere. Candidates in the Central or Eastern time zones are highly preferred.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Theme Customization: Customize and optimize Shopify themes to ensure a visually appealing and user-friendly online store. Implement responsive designs to enhance the mobile shopping experience.

    React Development:  Experienced with React and able to produce custom front end applications that can interact with the Shopify platform as well as custom REST APIs.

    Custom Feature Development: Develop custom front-end features and functionalities using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify Liquid to enhance the user experience and meet business objectives.

    Shopify Plus Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of Shopify Plus features, including scripting, automation, and scalability, to meet the evolving needs of our e-commerce business.

    App Integration: Evaluate, recommend, and integrate third-party Shopify apps to enhance the store's functionality. Ensure seamless integration and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

    Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve website performance, including page load times, to enhance the overall user experience and SEO rankings.

    Collaboration with Product and Design Teams: Work closely with our product managers and design teams to develop the best possible technical solutions for our online store. Act as a lead in technical discussions, providing insights and recommendations to align development efforts with the overall product and design vision. Ensure that technical and user experience aspects are harmoniously integrated to deliver a cohesive and innovative online shopping experience.

    Responsive Design: Ensure that the online store is fully responsive and optimized for various devices and screen sizes.

    Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, bugs, and errors in a timely manner. Collaborate with the team to provide effective solutions.

    Security and Compliance: Implement best practices for website security and ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

    Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of new features, updates, and changes to ensure they function as intended and are free of errors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:  A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Front-End Developer, with a focus on Shopify development.
  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Shopify Plus and its features.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid (Shopify's templating language).
  • Strong proficiency with React: Demonstrated experience in building dynamic, high-performance web applications using React. 
  • Experience with responsive web design and mobile optimization.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce best practices, including SEO and conversion rate optimization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in e-commerce.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Shopify certification or relevant certifications in web development.
  • Experience with other e-commerce platforms or CMS.
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles for e-commerce.

Compensation/Benefits: $112K – 129K; DOE
